Camborne RFC Latest News

New Year Cheer for the Cherry & Whites
Camborne Rugby Club have announced a trio of off field appointments to provide some extremely good
news for all their members and supporters following a stressful couple of weeks at the Rec.
After Alan Truscott stepped down as Chairman just before the Club relieved Ian Morgan of his duties prior to Christmas,
the Cherry & Whites have now confirmed that another stalwart Andy Gill will be taking over the reins as Chairman.
Gill has served the Club for more than 30 years firstly as a wily lock forward/No 8 during the 1980’s before several seasons
on the selection committee and in more recent times as touch judge for the 1st XV’s matches home and away.
Stepping back in to fill the Director of Rugby and coaching void for the remainder of the season will be the experienced
Liam Chapple who oversaw the Cherry & Whites’ return to the National Leagues with promotion last season.
Most of that promotion winning squad of players remain and they will be very familiar with Chapple’s methods and approach.
Despite their recent five points deduction the Club’s 1st XV remain close to the top of the National Three SW table with all to
play for in the forthcoming weeks.
Chapple will take charge at training on Tuesday evening ahead of next Saturday’s trip to mid table Hornets.
Finally the Club are delighted that their long serving Hon Secretary Terry Williams has reconsidered his original decision
to step down and will now continue with his duties until the end of this season as originally planned providing additional stability.

Urgent appeal for help from the Foodbank!

This message has been sent via Network Cornwall Member Messaging
I recieved this very sad email this morning.......
" Could you put an urgent message on the site please, all our food stocks are nearly exhausted and the standby store cupboard is empty!!
Urgent supplies are needed, last week 1800 meals were distributed from the Camborne distribution center alone.
As many of know we donated a website to the Foodbank just after Christmas, they really need help and you can make a difference!
Maybe you have some Christmas supplies left, maybe you have too much food for Easter?
Maybe you have a donation as small as £1.00, you would be suprised how far this can stretch to buy supplies? Please help ladies

Thanks in advance!
